I would like to welcome you to UMAFC, better known as United Martial Arts Family Center. It’s our great pleasure to serve you and our community to help and understand the life of a Martial Artist. You will find that Martial Arts are a way of life and that its purpose is to enable people to understand their full potential, both physically and mentally. If the mental aspect of the Martial Arts is ignored, its physical aspect is meaningless. Behind our door we try to maintain this attitude.

We are United Martial Arts Family Center, and we teach the ancient Korean martial arts of Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Kendo. Our master instructors have been involved with martial arts for more than three decades. Taekwondo is the art of hand and foot fighting. Hapkido is the art of unifying energy with the opponents; Kendo is the art of the sword.

Martial Arts are not to teach how to prevent a fight (moral), nor how to learn the techniques of stopping a fight (self-defense).  It is rather to learn the truth, to express the truth learned, and through such enlightenment, not to be involved in an unnecessary fight.

Through Taekwondo training, the student learns to use his body as an effective weapon similar to a hammer, sword, or a spear.  Furthermore, Taekwondo training enhances the mind so that the body and its weapon are not misused through acts of aggression or through actions having no reason or purpose. The practice allows the student to unite sound mental attitudes and a strong physique to conquer individual weakness so that he may achieve a higher state of self. Everything must have order and must be conducted with that order.  If everything is conducted with order this will enable everything to be achieved.
